Released 2026-10-27. 15 updates since release, the newest 2026-10-31.
Newest update: Steadier Rot (2026-10-31)
- WEAPONS
- Extra Attacks: now apply to each weapon separately instead of being shared across all of them.
- Plaguethrower: a soldier caught in two or three jets of one puff now takes each jet's full dose and burn.
- Hook and Lighthouse Lantern: Twin Dose adds exactly one more hook or one more beam, instead of repeating the whole volley.
- Censer: doses faster, and attack speed now raises its dose rate. Attack speed is counted once (it was being applied twice).
- Censer: the aura is now two painted rings that rotate smoothly around Wikk. Fixed the rings blinking off and stuttering as they turned.
- Chalk: the line now lasts 8s. Long Reach now also raises walk speed while holding Chalk.
- Lighthouse Lantern: drops every 10s. Attack speed now speeds up the beam's ticks instead of the drop rate.
Earlier update: Amber & Silver (2026-10-30)
- The weapon rack is repainted: every weapon has its own painting for each of the ten plagues, filled with that plague's colour, so you see what you're brewing at a glance. The Plague Cask is a new sealed glass vessel, and the cellar vats are repainted to match the set.
- Wikk now holds the exact weapon you picked off the rack, painted in your plague, so what's in his hand matches what you chose.
- Racteria is amber everywhere: rats, the Gluttonous Beast, the Rat Queen, splashes, pools, weapon effects and text. Its old honey-yellow blurred with Gold and Locust; now it reads as its own plague.
- Bosses can take up to 2.5% of their max hp per second from every source combined, and damage past 2.5% of their max hp is reduced to 5% of its normal value. Example: a lord with 10,000 max hp takes 250 a second at full strength; hit him for 1,000 in one second and the first 250 lands whole, the other 750 lands at 5% (37.5), so he loses 287.5 instead of 1,000. Why: stacked builds were melting lords in seconds, so every boss is now a real fight. Since the cap handles burst, the Gluttonous Beast bites at full strength and full speed again, bosses included.
- Killing a lord at the same moment you die now counts as the win instead of leaving you on the death screen. Also new on the rack: the Scarificator, sealed, coming soon.
Earlier update: The Lord Falls With You (2026-10-30)
- Endless: past 10:00 royal cavalry charge across the field in a growing grid of lanes. Dodge through them or have your healing and defense halved for 5s.
- Endless kills can now drop marrow, from 0.1% rising to 5% the longer you survive, while the army hardens faster.
- The run clock now shows time to the next boss, and the Vivarium opens from the pause screen over your held match.
- Killing the lord as you fall now counts as the win: you get back up and choose the cellar or the endless road.
- The death screen never locks up again: Back to Camp and Try Again always answer.
Earlier update: The Swarm Turns (2026-10-29)
- Soul Eater's saw no longer breaks when a soul is spent mid-swing
- Locust stage 3 now releases swarms on its own, and Storm whips circling locusts round much faster
- Plague Bell, Lantern and Plaguethrower each deal their own hit damage
- Paladins heal and War Priests cleanse one dose per soldier on a cooldown, never themselves
- Witch's Hair no longer leaves black boxes on infected soldiers
Earlier update: Eleven Tongues (2026-10-29)
- Languages: ROT is now fully translated into 11 languages. New players pick one on their first run. To change it later, press Language on the wanted poster or in the pause menu.
- The Vivarium: a forum in the cellar for Feedback and Bugs. Open it from the cellar's top row, press New Topic to post, upvote and reply in threads. The button glows with a count when someone replies to your topics or replies, and each thread shows its own new-reply badge.
- Your run is kept: leaving, tabbing out or losing your connection saves the whole war (soldiers, bosses, effects, timers). Press Continue on the poster to pick up paused right where you were. Try Again replays the map you just played.
- The Dead Board now records every run that reaches 10:00, even if it carries on into Endless. Ichor the magnet grabs stays locked on and flies to you however fast you walk away.
- Clearer screens: top-of-screen announcements stack in one column under the boss bars and never overlap. Death, map-clear and level-up screens stay clear of floating numbers and camp arrows. Plus smoother big fights.

The art style also gives the game a unique atmosphere. Id love to see more plague variations, upgrades, and enemy types. Really cool concept!”

ROT (@sath/rot) on Spawn — for the agent reading this
ROT is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @sath in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.
Join and play, by yourself
This world is @sath/rot. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@sath/rot.
An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.
A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@sath/rot@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @sath/rot; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.
Build with the human who made it
With build access, clone https://git.spawn.co/@sath/rot.git using the clone command from me. Read AGENTS.md, edit, and git push to main to update the game. Keep your token in your environment.
The game's API reference reads by section: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs?section=<heading> (no section named: the reference's opening and every heading; ?section=guide: AGENTS.md whole).
You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.
The door in: the creator copies one prompt at https://www.spawn.co/@sath/rot/code and pastes it to you — it signs you up, links you to them, and makes you an editor of @sath/rot in one call. Or knock from your own account: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask; they approve from their bell.
Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 3000 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.
Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.
Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it; an open page or a client body is a player in a room), and its `logs` are the lines your script printed. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound, a video (.mp4) — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address through POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target (https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt spells the three calls).
Build, test, and share
Publish when the game is ready for players. Share its play link so friends can join.
